Russia to supply helicopter, equipment to emergency center in Armenia

YEREVAN. Feb 17 (Interfax) - The Armenian-Russian humanitarian emergency center will be established in Armenia in 2014, Deputy Director of the Armenian Emergency Ministry's rescue service Nikolai Grigorian told reporters on Monday.

"It is expected that Russia will supply the center with equipment, vehicles and a helicopter. The total investment of Russia will amount to $12 million," Grigorian said.

This will be a regional center, which will respond not just to emergency situations in Armenia but in neighboring countries as well, Grigorian said.

The Armenian-Russian humanitarian emergency center will be situated in Balahovit, 20 kilometers north of Yerevan.
