KYIV. Feb 17 (Interfax) - Kyiv's mayor said on Monday that the city administration would take two to three days to get back to its normal routine after the administration building was vacated by protesters on Sunday.
Volodymyr Makeyenko told a briefing he had already moved back into his office. When a journalist said the head of administration hadn't been seen in the building on Monday morning, Makeyenko replied: "Morning started at 2 a.m. for me."
He said his deputies were also back in their offices, and that the rest of the administration staff would be back in after the offices are cleaned. The cleaning would take two or three days, the mayor said.
He confirmed that he had no grievances against the protesters who had been occupying the building. Nor were the authorities planning any damage compensation suits. Sponsor money would fund rehabilitation work, he said.
He also denied there were any plans to hire any security guards in addition to the 30 the Ukrainian capital's administration has today.
The city legislature, the Kyiv Council, would reconvene "after consensus is reached with all the political forces," he said.
