MOSCOW. Feb 19 (Interfax) - The European Union has not changed its position on the possibility of signing an association agreement with Ukraine, Head of the EU Delegation to Russia Vygaudas Usackas said.
"The EU is still ready to sign an association agreement with Ukraine as soon as Ukraine is ready," Usackas said at the presentation of the priorities of Greece's Council of Europe chairmanshipin Moscow on Wednesday.
The EU is greatly concerned about a new outbreak of violence in Ukraine.
"We condemn any violence and express our condolences to the victims' loved ones," he said.
Usackas suggested that the resolution of the crisis in Ukraine should involve the formation of a new government, amendments to the constitution, and preparations for transparent and democratic presidential elections.
He added that the EU is ready to help Ukraine in this process.
