Lavrov to meet with Palestinian chief negotiator on February 24

MOSCOW. Feb 20 (Interfax) - Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) Executive Committee member Saib Erikat will meet with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov in Moscow on February 24 to discuss the Palestinian-Israeli peace process, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman Alexander Lukashevich said.

"A Moscow visit of Palestine Liberation Organization Executive Committee member, head of the Palestinian delegation to the negotiations with Israel S. Erikat has been scheduled for February 24 within the framework of the mechanism of Russian-Palestinian consultations with the purpose of exchanging opinions about current affairs in the Palestinian-Israeli peace process," Lukashevich said.

The negotiations with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov "will concentrate on the state of affairs of the Palestinian-Israeli dialogue and its further prospects and touch upon key regional problems," he noted.

Erikat will hold detailed consultations with the Russian Foreign Minister's Special Representative for the Middle East Peace Process - Director of the Foreign Ministry Department on the Middle East and North Africa Sergei Vershinin. The PLO Executive Committee member will deliver a lecture at the MGIMO University.
