MOSCOW. Feb 21 (Interfax-AVN) - A meeting of the Russian-U.S. group Elba, which is comprised of retired military leaders of Russia and the United States, will be held in Morocco in March 2014, General Anatoly Kulikov, president of the Russian Military Commanders' Club, said on Wednesday.
"Last year, two U.S. delegations and a delegation of the Chinese Institute of International Strategic Research were our guests in the Elba club. In March 2014, we will hold another meeting of the Elba group in Marrakesh, Morocco," Kulikov said during a meeting with marshals, generals, and admirals devoted to the upcoming Defender of the Fatherland Day, which Russia marks on February 23.
Several important conferences and roundtable meetings will be held in the Russian Military Commanders' Club in 2014, he said.
"Among these meetings is a roundtable meeting on the role of the Navy in the system of Russia's national security, a conference on the counterterrorism operation on the territory of the Chechen Republic, and a roundtable on the anniversary of the beginning of World War I," Kulikov said.
In addition, a conference entitled 'Cooperation in the Anti-Hitler Coalition as an Important Factor of Victory in WWII' will be held in cooperation with the Russian Military History Society in May 2014, he said.
