Western Ukrainian town's lawmakers ban Party of Regions, Communist Party activities

LVIV. Feb 21 (Interfax) - The town council of Drohobych in the Lviv region has decided to ban the Party of Regions of Ukraine and the Communist Party's activities and symbols in the town.

The town lawmakers made this decision at an extraordinary session on the square in front of the town hall on Friday, the town council press service reported.

The lawmakers also banned displaying President Viktor Yanukovych's portraits at local government offices.

The legislators also proposed to the Drohobych mayor that the sale of alcohol be banned after 6:00 p.m. The proposal will be considered at the nearest session of the town council executive committee.
