MOSCOW. Feb 24 (Interfax) - Opposition activist Alexei Navalny was arrested outside Zamoskvoretsky Court in Moscow on Monday morning.
Navalny spent about half an hour not far from the court building where a sentencing is due in the Bolotnaya Square case on Monday.
At around 11:25 a.m. police officers led Navalny out of a group of people who gathered outside the court and escorted him to a police van. The opposition activist was loudly expressing his outrage at his detention and demanded an explanation.
People are still standing near the court building and chanting slogans. Police officers are asking demonstrators through loudspeakers to stop their unlawful rally.
