Head of Poltava region's council resigns

POLTAVA. Feb 24 (Interfax) - Ivan Momot said at an extraordinary meeting of the Poltava region's council that he had resigned as head of the region's council, an Interfax correspondent has reported.

His first deputy Volodymyr Onishchenko has resigned as well.

According to earlier reports, Momot earlier left the Party of Regions.

Oleksandr Udovichenko resigned as chairman of the Poltava region's state administration on February 22.
