Russian and German leaders discuss ways out of Ukraine crisis

MOSCOW. March 6 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin and German Chancellor Angela Merkel discussed possible solutions to the continuing crisis in Ukraine over the phone, the Kremlin press service said.

"Putin and Merkel exchanged opinions on a number of aspects of the acute crisis in Ukraine and discussed possible options for international assistance intended to help normalize the social and political situation in this country," it said.

The telephone conversation was held at Germany's initiative.
