Ukrainian media reports about Russia cutting diplomatic ties with Kyiv 'provocative' - ministry (Part 2)

MOSCOW. March 7 (Interfax) - Moscow is shocked by the way Ukrainian media interpreted the statements made by Russian Permanent Representative to the United Nations Vitaly Churkin, especially their allegations about the severance of diplomatic relations between Russia and Ukraine.

"The Russian Foreign Ministry is appalled and even shocked by how many Ukrainian media outlets have grossly misrepresented the statements by the Russian permanent representative to the UN regarding Russia's contacts with the authorities in Kyiv. The allegation that Moscow has decided to sever diplomatic ties with Ukraine sounds particularly provocative," the ministry told Interfax.

"Such propaganda methods are categorically unacceptable and can destabilize the situation in various Ukrainian regions even further on the wave of clearly anti-Russian sentiments encouraged by the current authorities in Kyiv," the ministry said.

"And that is despite the fact that a full transcript and a video of Churkin's conversation with the press after the behind-closed-doors UN SC consultations on the situation in Ukraine is available on the website of the Russian Permanent Mission in New York," the ministry said.
