Europe asks Russia, U.S. to work together directly in search for Ukraine settlement - Lavrov

SOCHI. March 11 (Interfax) - The European partners have urged Russia and the United States to work together directly in search for ways of settling the situation in Ukraine, said Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.

"The partners proposed at a regular round of bilateral talks that Russia and the United States work together directly in search for approaches acceptable to all," Lavrov told President Vladimir Putin on Monday.

A series of international meetings took place last week, with U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry and European foreign ministers' participation, he said.
