Russia will give 40 billion rubles to support Crimea's industry if it joins Russia - State Duma deputy

SIMFEROPOL. March 11 (Interfax) - Russia is ready to provide some forty billion rubles for the support of Crimea's enterprises if the peninsula joins Russia, Pavel Dorokhin, a Russian State Duma deputy and deputy chairman of the State Duma committee on industry, told reporters on Sunday.

Dorokhin said he has discussed this issue with Crimean Prime Minister Sergei Aksyonov.

"The Russian government has reserved a lot of money, some 40 billion rubles, for the support of the development of the industrial and economic infrastructure of Crimea. This primarily refers to the support of enterprises associated with the defense industry, machine-building, and the maintenance of ships, including the ships of the Russian Black Sea fleet. We plan very clear measures here," he said.
