KYIV. March 12 (Interfax) - Ukraine's large telecommunications services provider Volya has decided to stop broadcasting three Russian television channels (ORT, RTR Planeta, and NTV-Mir) on its networks at the request of the National Council on Television and Radio Broadcasting, the Volya press service reported on Tuesday.
"The company management has made a decision to suspend the broadcasts of the Russian television channels ORT, RTR Planeta, and NTV-Mir in all our packages. We will notify our partners, representatives of these television channels, tomorrow," the press service reported.
The provider will begin notifying people in every city where the channels are present on the dates of the measures taken to suspend the broadcasting of the Russian television channels beginning from the official publication of the National Council's decision.
According to earlier reports, the National Council on Tuesday published requirements to Ukrainian providers demanding that the broadcasts of Russian information channels on cable networks stop by 7:00 p.m. on March 11.
