Black Sea Fleet ships return to home base after dock repairs

SEVASTOPOL. March 17 (Interfax-AVN) - The large amphibious ship, the Novocherkassk, and the rescue vessel, the Kommuna, have undergone dock repairs and returned to the Black Sea Fleet, a spokesman for the Black Sea Feet's staff told Interfax-AVN.

"The Novocherkassk left the PD-30 floating dock near Inkerman, while the fleet's veteran rescue vessel, the Kommuna, left the floating dock PD-88 in the Southern Harbor.

The dock repairs and the journey were successful. The ships are back to the fleet, ready to fulfill the tasks to be assigned, the spokesman said.

The Novocherkassk had earlier successfully performed a mission as part of the Russian task force in the Mediterranean.

In July 2015, the Kommuna will mark 100 years since St. Andrew's flag was hoisted on it.
