Radical group derails "Crimea is Russia" rally in Tbilisi - organizer

TBILISI. March 17 (Interfax) - Several dozen radical-minded activists derailed a rally, organized by the Eurasian Choice nongovernmental organization under the motto "Crimea is Russia" near the close Russian embassy in Tbilisi on Sunday.

Policemen detained two of the most aggressive radical activists after they tore the posters reading: "Crimea is Russia."

"Our rally was authorized, but a radical group derailed it. The Russian speaking population constituting a majority in Crimea has the right to hold a referendum. Georgian citizens, too, have the constitutional right to hold a peaceful rally," Eurasian Choice leader Archil Chkoidze told reporters.

Meanwhile, a massive rally was held in support of Ukraine's sovereignty near the Ukrainian embassy in Tbilisi.
