Ukraine's neutrality must be consolidated by UN SC resolution - Moscow officials

MOSCOW. March 17 (Interfax) - Moscow has called for the guaranteed military and political neutrality of Ukraine to be reflected in a resolution of the United Nations Security Council.

"Based on the totality of the aforesaid goals and principles, the political structure of Ukraine, its sovereignty, territorial integrity and neutral military and political status are guaranteed by Russia, the European Union and the United States, and enshrined in a resolution of the UN Security Council," the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement regarding the group of support for Ukraine.

The clause must become one of the goals of the Group, into which Russia has invited the EU and the U.S., and an encouragement for Ukrainians, the Foreign Ministry said.
