KYIV. March 19 (Interfax) - Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseny Yatsenyuk has condemned some parliamentarians' actions at the National Television Company of Ukraine (NTCU) as unacceptable in a democratic country.
"These are not our approaches. A country that is going to join the European Union will follow the European community's basic principles and values in practice," Yatsenyuk said in a statement available on the prime minister's official website.
The NTCU's work should be valued by the Ukrainian Cabinet of ministers in line with the law, he said.
It was reported earlier that several members of the Svoboda (Freedom) parliamentary faction forced acting NTCU Director Oleksandr Panteleimonov to resign.
The online publication Ukrayinska Pravda reported that a video available online showed the parliamentarians punching Panteleimonov in the head and the face to force him to resign.
