MOSCOW. March 19 (Interfax) - Almost 645,000 foreign citizens, who violated Russian laws, have been banned entry to Russia, Russian Federal Migration Service Chief Konstantin Romodanovsky told Interfax on Wednesday.
"As of today, 645,000 foreign citizens have been banned entry," Romodanovsky said.
Almost 18 million foreign citizens visited Russia in 2013 and 12.4 million of them came to work, Romodanovsky has said.
According to the information of the Federal Migration Service, the foreigners are banned entry from three to ten years. Foreign citizens are banned entry to Russia if they have committed several offenses or stayed over their time permitted by law. A foreigner will also be banned entry if deportation is issued, exclusion or readmission has been returned on him or her and in case using a fake migration card.
According to the assessment of the Federal Migration Service, around 3.5 million foreign citizens have come to Russia legally and work here illegally.
