Peskov confirms Moscow's intention to continue responding to sanctions

MOSCOW. March 21 (Interfax) - The state will stand by the legal entities and private citizens, regarding whom sanctions will be used, Russian President Vladimir Putin's spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.

"We will react every time and we react based on mutuality. We have responded to the first sanctions and now we will respond to these [sanctions], they will not go unnoticed," Peskov told reporters.

When asked whether sanctions by western countries could affect ordinary Russian citizens, Peskov said: "The absurdity of such actions have already been emphasized at different levels, it has been emphasized indirectly by President Putin. It refers to absolutely inexplicable surnames in different lists and inexplicable legal entities. Naturally, the state will stand by the private citizens and legal entities and provide necessary support."
