Crime detection rate in Russia not improving - Putin

MOSCOW. March 21 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin has acknowledged that Russian police have so far been unable to increase the crime detection rate.

"The overall number of crimes remains significant. The crime detection rate has not been improved, either. The share of unsolved crimes on average in Russia is nearly 44%," Putin said at an Interior Ministry expanded board meeting on Friday.

"The situation needs to be changed radically," he said.
