Russia to launch its next Glonass-M satellite in June - company general director

SANTIAGO, Chile. March 27 (Interfax-AVN) - Russia plans to launch its next Glonass-M satellite in mid-June, Nikolai Testoyedov, general director of JSC Information Satellite Systems Reshetnev Company, said.

"We are preparing to launch the next Glonass-M satellite onboard a Soyuz launch vehicle from Plesetsk [Cosmodrome] on June 14. We will send this satellite to the third level. As for the second level, where three satellites have already exceeded their seven-year service life, we are preparing to send there a Proton [launch vehicle] with three satellites at the end of the year - in October or November. It means that we will launch another four Glonass-M satellites this year," he told Interfax-AVN on the sidelines of the FIDAE-2014 International Air and Space Fair, which opened in Chile.
