BARANOVICHI. April 2 (Interfax) - Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko has called for more cooperation with Ukrainian defense companies.
"Today Ukraine has effectively fallen apart. But its defense industry is quite good. Let us try to agree with Ukrainians and work together so they don't lose their brain centers, be it intellectual, engineering or design, and production proper," Lukashenko said during a visit to the facilities of the 558th Aviation Repair Plant in Baranovichi on Wednesday.
"Now the moment is right, and we must seize this moment," the president said.
Defense products should be made not only for domestic needs but for the external market too, he said.
