MOSCOW. April 3 (Interfax-AVN) - Two diesel electric submarines HQ-182 Hanoi and HQ-183 Ho Chi Minh of Russia's 636.1 project (Kilo-class) have joined the Vietnamese navy, a source in the Russian ship building industry told Interfax-AVN on Thursday.
"A solemn ceremony of hoisting the flag of Vietnam and the flag of the Vietnamese submarine fleet on the Hanoi and the Ho Chi Minh submarines took place at the 189 submarine brigade in Cam Ranh today," the source said.
It is expected that the third Russian-made Kilo-class submarine will arrive in Cam Ranh.
