Ukraine's CEC registers two more presidential candidates

KYIV. April 3 (Interfax) - Ukraine's Central Election Commission (CEC) has registered leader of the Popular Rukh Vasyl Kuibida and Euromaidan activist Zorian Shkiriak as presidential candidates.

The decision was made at a Wednesday session of the CEC.

Kuibida, born in 1958, a resident of Kyiv, is a professor at the Public Administration and Local Government Department of the Lviv Regional Institute of Public Administration of the National Academy of Public Administration under the President of Ukraine. He was nominated by a convention of the Popular Rukh.

Shkiriak, born in 1970, a resident of Kyiv, is temporarily unemployed. He will run for president as a self-nominee.

As of today the CEC has registered 23 presidential candidates out of the 24 people submitting a full package of documents. The CEC is still to handle the documents of the contender nominated by the Internet Party of Ukraine - electrician Darth Vader.

The presidential elections are scheduled for May 25.
