BAIKONUR. April 8 (Interfax-AVN) - The carrier rocket Soyuz-U with the cargo spacecraft Progress M-23M was installed on Launch Site 1 (the Gagarin launch pad) at the Baikonur cosmodrome on Monday, a cosmodrome source said.
"The rocket's transportation from the assembly and testing facility at Site 112 began at 5 a.m. Moscow time. By 7 a.m. Moscow time the rocket had been delivered to the launch complex and was installed an hour later. Work began in compliance with the schedule of the first pre-launch day," he said.
The Soyuz-U with the cargo spacecraft is to be launched at 7:25 p.m., Moscow time, on April 9.
The Progress M-23M is to deliver more than 2.5 tonnes of cargo to the International Space Station, including research equipment, fuel to be used for keeping the station in orbit, as well as food, water and air.
