MOSCOW. April 14 (Interfax) - Investigators suspect two members of the "Kizilyurt saboteur and terrorist group" of perpetrating Thursday's murder of a village imam in the Dagestan republic in Russia's North Caucasus, Russia's Investigative Committee said on Friday.
The suspects are "on the federal wanted list for various serious crimes," the Committee said in a statement.
The 32-year-old imam of the mosque of the village of Nechayevka in Kizilyurt district, Magomed Zakaryayev, was shot dead around 11 p.m. by masked men who used handguns and escaped. Zakaryayev died on the spot.
Police were looking for the attackers.
