Russian envoy: NATO must compel Kyiv not to use force in southeastern Ukraine

MOSCOW/BRUSSELS. April 14 (Interfax) - NATO must demand that the Kyiv authorities reconsider their decision to use military force in southeastern Ukraine and stop supporting Ukrainian law enforcers, Russian Permanent Representative to the North Atlantic Alliance Alexander Grushko said.

"For starters, NATO must demand that the Kyiv authorities immediately repeal every decision to use military force for suppressing protests in southern and eastern Ukraine, return the troops to barracks and stop rendering any assistance and support to the Ukrainian Armed Forces and security forces," he told Interfax on Sunday, commenting on the NATO appeal for a de-escalation of the situation in Ukraine.
