NALCHIK, Russia. April 15 (Interfax) - A man drew a pistol and opened fire on police who had stopped him to check his papers but was killed when the officers fired back in an incident in Nalchik, capital of the Kabardino-Balkaria republic in Russia's North Caucasus, on Monday, a local spokesman for Russia's Investigative Committee said.
No policemen were hurt, the spokesman told Interfax.
