Militia detain Ukraine soldiers for opening fire near Slovyansk

MOSCOW. April 17 (Interfax) - No one was killed or injured when Ukrainian servicemen opened fire on the outskirts of the city of Slovyansk, a spokesman for the local self-defense forces told Interfax on Wednesday evening.

"Servicemen fired at civilians and were subsequently detained by militia units," he said.

A total of 17 soldiers were detained, he added.

Interfax has so far been unable to receive confirmation of this report from other sources.
