Two killed in attack on Interior Ministry garrison in Mariupol - Donetsk regional administration

KYIV. April 17 (Interfax) - Two people were killed after sustaining gunshot wounds in an attempt to seize a military garrison in Mariupol, the Donetsk region, on the evening of April 15, the Donetsk regional administration's healthcare department said in a statement.

Another 15 people have been taken to Mariupol hospitals with gunshot wounds of varying degrees.

"There is no information on the affiliation of those killed and wounded," it said.

Ukrainian Interior Minister Arsen Avakov had said earlier that three people attacking a unit of the Ukrainian National Guard in Mariupol had been killed, 13 wounded, and 63 detained. "No one has been harmed among the Interior Ministry servicemen," he said.
