Ukraine's neutrality unquestionable - Lavrov

GENEVA. April 18 (Interfax) - Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov on Thursday insisted on the immutability of Ukraine's neutral status.

"The fact that Ukraine has opted for neutrality and enshrined it in its law must be respected by everyone, there must be no attempt to question it or try to dilute it," Lavrov told a news conference in Geneva.

"We maintained in our discussions that an alteration of that status would disrupt any effort to start collaboration and constructive interaction in all issues pertaining to the settlement of the ongoing crisis in Ukraine," the minister added.
