MOSCOW. April 18 (Interfax) - Activists of the Donetsk region's self-defense forces have been detained by police at a checkpoint on the outskirts of the city of Slovyansk, Donbas People's Army spokesman Miroslav Rudenko told Interfax on Friday.
"One of our checkpoints outside of Slovyansk came under fire last night. The people who were on duty at this checkpoint at that time were detained," he said.
According to Rudenko, Ukrainian special services also detained an activist of the self-defense forces in the town of Volnovakha, 60 kilometers southwest of Donetsk.
"The activist was detained. The information available to us suggests that he [was detained] by the Ukrainian Security Service and was taken to Kyiv," he said.
Interfax has so far been unable to obtain an official confirmation of the report.
