MOSCOW. April 18 (Interfax) - Iran has suggested Russia delay a meeting of the inter-governmental commission between the two countries from the summer to September, Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak told a press conference.
"We'll be drafting agreements to broaden trade cooperation," Novak said, adding that the next inter-governmental commission will meet in Tehran. "We will be preparing for September," he said.
The main problem in trade and economic relations with Iran is currently U.S. and EU sanctions and the inability to pay for shipped goods and services from Russian companies. "We are currently working out mechanisms with our Iranian colleagues on possible mutual settlements and payments for shipped equipment, which will allow us to boost our trade turnover," Novak said.
