State-paid security guards will protect six Ukraine presidential candidates

KYIV. April 18 (Interfax) - Ukraine's acting president and parliament speaker, Oleksandr Turchynov, has ordered that government-paid security guards be assigned to six presidential candidates, among them Serhiy Tihipko, Yulia Tymoshenko, Petro Poroshenko, Oleh Lyashko, Mykhailo Dobkin, and Olha Bogomolets.

The document was published on the acting president's website on April 18.

These people will have 24-hour protection.

A total of 23 candidates are running in Ukraine's presidential election, set for May 25.
