KYIV. April 18 (Interfax) - Kyiv's compromise at a Thursday meeting aimed at settling the crisis in Ukraine between representatives of Ukraine, Russia, the U.S. and the EU concern constitutional reform and the pardoning of supporters of federalization in eastern regions, acting Foreign Minister Andriy Deshchytsya said.
"We talked about starting to discuss a constitutional reform involving a large number of those wishing, including representatives of various regions, on which our Russian partners insisted," Deshchytsya said at a news conference on Friday.
Ukraine also agreed to pardon the opponents of the so-called Euro-Maidan in eastern regions, Deshchytsya said. "The second issue is amnesty. We agreed to grant amnesty to those who voluntarily lay down their weapons or leave buildings that have been seized," he said.
Based on these agreements, people are supposed first to lay down their weapons and leave the buildings, and only then will they be pardoned, he said.
