MOSCOW. April 21 (Interfax) - The West will not be able to corner Russia over its reaction to the Ukrainian events.
"We can mobilize our whole society if someone starts driving Russia into a corner. But, thank God, it is impossible to drive Russia into a corner," Russian President's Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov said on The Sunday Night with Vladimir Solovyov.
There are "no corners" in the modern world, Peskov said. "The world is very diverse and not all countries support the sanctions rhetoric, not all countries are prepared to depart from the principles of pragmatism in international affairs, not everyone is prepared and wants to sustain economic losses," he said.
Asked whether efforts to isolate Russia in this situation will succeed Peskov said: "No, certainly not."
