Danish fighter jets arrive in Estonia

TALLINN. April 30 (Interfax) - Four Danish F-16 fighter jets arrived at the Estonian Amari Air Base on Wednesday on a NATO mission to patrol Baltic airspace.

An official reception ceremony is to begin in the afternoon, the Estonian government's press service reported.

The pilots and a 60-member support crew will be greeted by Prime Minister Taavi Roivas, NATO HQ Allied Air Commander Frank Gorenc, Estonian Secretary of Defense Mikk Marran and Commander-in-Chief of the Estonian Armed Forces Riho Terras.

The pilots will assume their duties on May 1.

Amari Air Base will be NATO's second air base in Baltic countries. NATO fighter jets were earlier stationed at an airfield outside Siauliai in Lithuania.

One hundred and fifty American paratroopers arrived in Estonia on Monday on a security mission.
