Rosoboronexport, Kazakhstan negotiating cooperation projects

MOSCOW. May 21 (Interfax-AVN) - A number of Russian military products offered to Kazakhstan and other CIS countries will be put on display by Rosoboronexport as part of the state corporation Rostec exposition at the KADEX-2014 Kazakhstan Defense Expo in Astana, Kazakhstan, on May 22-25, a source in the arms exporter's press service told Interfax-AVN on Wednesday.

"Our relations with our Kazakh partners never end. We expect this exhibition to expand and deepen our cooperation. A number of projects are being negotiated in the interest of all arms of the Armed Forces; the projects will significantly improve their combat capacities," Rosoboronexport general director advisor and delegation head Esen Topoyev said.

In the opinion of Rosoboronexport experts, Russian aircraft will be the central piece of the show. The Sukhoi Su-30SM multirole fighter jet, a Su-30 family offspring, will participate in show flights. The Mikoyan MiG-35 multirole fighter will be demonstrated on the ground.

Kazakh specialists are also enthusiastic about the Sukhoi Su-35 multirole fighter and the Yakovlev Yak-130 combat trainer. The combat helicopters Kamov Ka-52 and Mil Mi-28NE and Mi-35M have great potential on the Kazakh market.

The Pantsir-S1 air defense missile and artillery system, long-range air defense missile systems and radio-electronic warfare systems will stand out amongst Russian air defense complexes.

"The delivery of modern air defense systems will be a primary subject of discussion in the context of Russia-Kazakhstan plans to deploy a unified regional air defense network," the Rosoboronexport press service said.

Naval hardware will be mostly represented by patrol craft and vessels designed to protect coastal waters, among them the small missile ship Tornado, which has been successfully operated by the Caspian flotilla and which meets the needs of Kazakhstan.

Rosoboronexport is actively promoting a broad range of military products in Kazakhstan, among them the automated tactical troop control system. The system is capable of boosting operative troop control with navigation, digital communication, computation and electronic map systems.
