ASTANA. May 26 (Interfax-AVN) - Kazakhstan has taken an interest in Russian aircraft, manpower protection means, an automated control system and a missile ship, the Rosoboronexport press service told Interfax-AVN on Saturday.
"Presentations of aircraft, automated troop control systems and specialized hardware were held for Kazakh law enforcement agencies. The Kazakh side was enthusiastic about presentations of Mikoyan MiG-35 and Sukhoi Su-30SM fighter jets, the Antonov An-148, the Ansat-U training helicopter, the Kamov Ka-226T light multirole helicopter and combat helicopters Mil Mi-28NE, Kamov Ka-52 and Mil Mi-35M," a Rosoboronexport representative said.
Kazakhstan also showed an interest in the possible joint production, maintenance and modernization of Russian aircraft.
"Contracts on the delivery of manpower protection means and an automated troop control system were discussed with the administration of the Kazakh Interior Ministry's National Guard," he said.
A draft contract on the delivery of a Tornado-class small-sized missile ship was presented to a Kazakh deputy defense minister after negotiations.
Rosoboronexport negotiated with delegations from Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Turkey at the KADEX 2014 third international arms show, which ended in Astana on May 25.
