LUHANSK. May 27 (Interfax) - The head of the self-declared Luhansk People's Republic Valery Bolotov said he is not considering the idea of holding regional elections. Nor does he want his supporters to lay down arms before Ukrainian troops withdraw from the region.
"We have tasks and decisions of our own," Bolotov said when asked by Interfax about the idea of holding regional elections, proposed by Poroshenko.
He said his supporters "are not going to lay down arms. We will maintain an army of our own to protect the border and our independence," he said.
Concerning dialogue with Poroshenko, Bolotov said that, "the moment they withdraw troops from our territory dialogue will become possible."
