South Ossetian president certain events in Abkhazia will stay within constitution

TSKHINVAL. May 28 (Interfax) - The outbreak of tensions that occurred in Sukhumi is bound to raise concerns in South Ossetia over the situation in fraternal Abkhazia, South Ossetia's President Leonid Tibilov said.

"Obviously, any manifestation of instability in the socio-political situation in the republic is not helping Abkhaz statehood or its economy. We are certain that the state wisdom and patriotism characteristic of the Abkhaz people will enable it to keep the course of events within the constitution and find a solution to all problematic issues in the format of a national political dialogue," President Tibilov told Interfax on Wednesday.

He said the South Ossetian authorities maintain regular contact with Sukhumi and are following the developments.
