Moscow sends note to Kyiv urging to send humanitarian aid to east Ukraine population - ministry

MOSCOW. May 28 (Interfax) - Moscow calls on Kyiv to ensure that humanitarian aid is provided to the eastern regions of Ukraine, the Russian Foreign Ministry said.

The Russian Foreign Ministry has sent its Ukrainian counterparts a note "which points out to the Ukrainian side that Russia has been receiving urgent requests from individuals and organizations based in the conflict zone in the eastern Ukrainian regions, where hostilities led to human casualties and multiple injuries, asking to provide immediate humanitarian aid, primarily medications and medicinal drugs," the ministry said on its website.

"Given the emergency nature of the current situation, the Russian side hopes for the swiftest possible reply from the Ukrainian side to this request," the Russian Foreign Ministry said.
