Luhansk militia braces for possible Ukraine army offensive near Lysychansk

MOSCOW. May 30 (Interfax) - Militiamen in Ukraine's eastern Luhansk region claim that the Ukrainian Armed Forces are amassing soldiers near the towns of Rubizhne and Lysychansk.

"We are receiving information that convoys of armored vehicles have been moving at a high speed to the town of Rubizhne since early morning. Apparently, forces are being amassed there," the leader of the Luhansk region's "People's Front", Alexiy Chmylenko, told Interfax.

Militiamen, for their part, are closely following the developments and preparing to repel a possible offensive, he said.
