TROITSK. June 3 (Interfax) - The situation in Ukraine is developing negatively and the number of Ukrainians seeking asylum in Russia is up, Russian Federal Migration Service Head Konstantin Romodanovsky said.
"The situational development promises us nothing iridescent. We think that this process will not stop quickly. The number of applicants will increase dramatically," Romodanovsky said at a meeting with migration service heads of Hungary and Slovakia in Troitsk on Tuesday.
The number of Ukrainian citizens seeking refugee status and asylum in Russia has already tripled on average, Romodanovsky said.
