Info on use of banned weapons in southeastern Ukraine should be studied - Russian Foreign Ministry

MOSCOW. June 4 (Interfax) - Information on the use of banned weapons in southeastern Ukraine should get a relevant assessment, the Russian Foreign Ministry said.

"Reports exist that special forces used 'inhumane' weapons in Ukraine. If this is true, according to the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court, this should be treated as a war crime," Director of the Russian Foreign Ministry department for humanitarian cooperation and human rights Anatoly Viktorov said at a news conference in Moscow on Wednesday.

Information exists that Ukrainian special forces used percussion shells and cluster bombs during artillery and air strikes at civil facilities, Viktorov said.

"It is reported in regard to notorious events in Odessa that poisonous substances were used there," he said.
