Russian Border Service confirms attack on Ukrainian border outpost Marynivka in Donetsk region

ROSTOV-ON-DON. June 6 (Interfax) - The Russian Federal Security Service's (FSB) Border Service has confirmed that armed men of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic attacked the Ukrainian border outpost Marynivka in the Donetsk region earlier on Thursday.

"At 5:00 p.m. today, militiamen from the Donetsk People's Republic mounted an armed attack on the Ukrainian border outpost Marynivka in the Donetsk region located 3 kilometers away from a Russian border outpost," a spokesman for the Border Service department for the Rostov region told Interfax on Thursday.

A Ukrainian Su-25 attack plane carried out an airstrike upon the gunmen who attacked the Ukrainian border outpost. No other incidents were recorded in the area adjacent to the Russian-Ukrainian border in the Rostov region, it said.
