KYIV. June 6 (Interfax) - The signing of a common aviation area agreement between Ukraine and the European Union has been postponed.
"The signing of the common aviation area agreement between Ukraine and the European Union scheduled for June 5 has been postponed by the EU. The reason is that the positions of Spain and Britain on the article on the territory over Gibraltar are not agreed upon," the Ukrainian Infrastructure Ministry said in a press release on Thursday.
Ukraine is totally ready to sign the agreement, the ministry added.
Talks are now taking place to set a new date for signing the agreement.
It was reported that an informed source in the European Commission told Interfax a day earlier that the treaty signing has been postponed. The Commission believes that the agreement could be signed along with the economic part of the EU association agreement on June 27.
