DNR administration doesn't know what UN missions are doing in Ukraine

MOSCOW. June 25 (Interfax) - Andrei Purgin, first deputy prime minister of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic, said he has no interaction with UN missions in Ukraine.

"A met with representatives of a UN humanitarian mission about a week ago. They had unchecked information, many facts were totally wrong, but nothing followed that meeting. There was no feedback. We didn't see any other UN missions, including observers. They don't maintain contact with us. We don't know what they are doing," Purgin told Interfax.

Purgin said the administration of the Donetsk People's Republic is working closely with an OSCE mission.

"We are in constant contact with OSCE representatives on various issues. We have mutual understanding. We are working together in a coordinated way," he said.

Russian envoy to the UN Vitaly Churkin earlier said Russia is questioning the expediency of continuing the work of the UN observer mission in Ukraine after a recent report on the human rights situation there. "We generally have to state that this report undermines our confidence in the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights and raises serious questions about the expediency of the mission's further work," Churkin said in the UN Security Council on Tuesday.
