MOSCOW. June 25 (Interfax) - A Ukrainian military ammunition warehouse has been destroyed as a result of mortar fire near Slovyansk, said Igor Strelkov, the commander of the militia forces of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic (DPR).
The attack was carried out by militiamen near the villages of Krivaya Luka and Mykolayivka near the city of Siversk.
"As a result of the mortar fire, the ammunition warehouse at one of the heights occupied by the adversary detonated, three fires were visually observed," Strelkov was quoted as saying by Donbas "people's governor" Pavlov Hubarev on his Facebook page on Wednesday.
"The adversary's infantry and equipment, located at the base of the offensive and therefore unentrenched, have sustained great losses," Strelkov also said.
Strelkov did not specify how many were killed or injured.
The Ukrainian authorities have announced a unilateral ceasefire in the east of Ukraine from June 20 through 27.
