MOSCOW. June 26 (Interfax-AVN) - The RT-Chemical Technologies and Composite Materials (RT-Chemcomposite) holding and Austrian company Astron Industriebeteiligungs GmbH have signed a cooperation memorandum, the holding press office said in a statement.

"The goal of the memorandum is to establish business relations for strategic cooperation in producing and selling special polymers (trans-polynorbornene) and wide range of items produced of them," the document said.

Elastomeric materials of petroleum paraffin, which will be produced on the basis of trans-polynorbornene substances, have a wide use range in oil and gas extraction and processing, rubber, tire and railway sectors, shoe, consumer, car and ship-building industries, RT-Chemcomposite General Director Kirill Shubskoi said.

It is planned to have joint trans-polynorbornene production with a capacity of over 5,000 tonnes under Astron's technology in Russia on the basis of the All-Russia Scientific Research Institute of Synthetic Fiber - the only research and production enterprise in Russia and the CIS specializing in synthetic fiber, which includes an institute and experimental plant.
